South Austin Residence
South Austin Residence - yard transformation with separated lawn, vegetable garden and Cowboy pool area.

The client wished to turn their long narrow backyard into several distinct sections. We divided the long rectangular backyard into zones, creating a different feel for each section, while still allowing for a lovely view looking out onto the backyard from inside the home. We removed the old multileveled wood deck and replaced it with a single-level stone patio and cedar privacy screen. From the patio, we made a small lawn area for her pups and a rose garden to frame in the limestone brick wall. A pea gravel path was installed that weaved its way to an antique iron gate that opened into an entertainment area and vegetable garden. With lots of full sun, this was the perfect spot for two large cedar veggie boxes, a Cowboy pool, a shade sail, and a sitting area. The final section we created was a woodland shade garden under large existing trees to create privacy from back neighbors and to fill in the view from the house.
